Apple released iTunes 9.1 with specific support for the iPad as another pre-release salvo for the iPad’s April 3rd launch.  iTunes 9.1 was released just days before the official shipping date for the iPad. The iTunes update clearly states that the new version of iTunes includes support for sync, including not only music but “books on the go”. Clearly, Apple is banking on iTunes being the springboard for most revenue through their music, movies, applications and now books through the iBookstore.  The second bullet below further highlights Apple’s planned penetration into the e-Reader market.
