Creating iPad Apps Without Objective-C

Objective-C is a pain in the ass to learn.  There, I said it.  It’s got the best of C and the worst of garbage cleanup.  So what is a developer supposed to do if they want to enter into the wild west of App Store development for the iPad? Well, this article covers three of the names out there that are alternates to the SDK 3.2 from Apple.  Andrew talks about PhoneGap, RhoHub and Titanium as alternates to the Objective-C language that can compile down to the Objective-C bytecode. Apple … Read entire article »

It’s a brilliant move by Amazon.  Really.  Hardware is an overhead cost, and if Kindle can work purely off a distributed software model and, similar to iTunes, just sell digital books…well, profit goes way up! Amazon, to its credit, has had their Kindle software available on the iPhone and iPod Touch for a while now, but reading on a 3.5″ LCD is very different from reading a book or magazine on the iPad’s 10″ screen. Good for you, Amazon.  I think no matter who wins … Read entire article »
