Amazon, Barnes & Noble e-Reader Software Not Launching On iPad

Amazon announced that it would, indeed, be launching software for its popular Kindle e-Reader platform that will work on the iPad Tablet.  Now, Barnes & Noble also sees the writing on the wall as it announces their own iPad e-Reader application.  Apple, however, not playing favorites, is not OEM-ing either software on the iPad when they ship. Alex eReader From Spring Design Launches

The price is $399, which is still $100 less than the lowest-end iPad and great for folks that just aren’t that app-crazy.  However, Alex generation 1 product has WiFi but no 3G technology built in.  The split-screen design of Alex keeps a very interesting division of labor with the larger top portion for an e-Ink display. Spring Design is no newcomer to the e-Reader party.  The Alex was originally set to launch about a year ago, which is around the time that Barnes and Noble launched their Nook e-Reader.  … Read entire article »
